I loved Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy’s performance in HEAT. They cracked me up so much in that movie. Thanks for the chance to win. Hope you’re keeping safe!
Good choice – that move was so funny!
I hadn’t heard of this but we definitely need some escapism down here in Melbourne! I grew up watching Starsky & Hutch, so they’re still my ultimate buddy cop duo from a childhood of playing Starsky & Hutch car chases with matchbox cars. I even watched the film out of childhood nostaliga, it’s not politically correct but it’s a campy riot of retro cool !
I loved Noel Clarke in Doctor Who so I’m keen to see this. And I completely agree with you, Mel and Danny make Lethal Weapon a classic of the genre, the sheer underlying energy and chemistry between them is exhilarating and irresistible, I’m glad you reminded me as I reckon I need to do a Lethal Weapon lockdown marathon.
I was about to say Bodie and Doyle in the Professionals circa 1970s but realised it probably needs to be a movie so have gone with Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy in 48 Hours!, they are perfect foils for each other and let’s face it, any movie with Eddie Murphy in it is gold!
A childhood favourite of mine – Ponch and Jon. Yep, it’s Chips. They were re-runs, but it was a must view on Saturday mornings at my house. Off-screen they may not have been the best of friends, but on-screen their relationship was fantastic. California seemed like such an exciting place, and they had the best job in the world. And who doesn’t like an officer in uniform?
Their attempts at jet-skiing or womanising were hilarious. The sub-plots were ridiculous and corny. It all seemed like harmless fun at the time.
I’ve never watched the movie. If I watched it, I’m not sure I’d remember the tv series so fondly. It doesn’t seem to be on TV at the moment. I look forward to the day I’m flicking through channels and I come across it again.
I just loved CHIPS as a kid 🙂
Ahhh Man there are soo many! I’d say for a classic comedy defiantly Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans in White Chick but for bad ass cop movie that’s action packed then hands down Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys.
Thanks for the competition Jason ! I discovered a DVD boxset of Cagney and Lacey and binge watched the whole thing, their chemistry is brilliant and it’s hard to believe just how ground-breaking the show was for its time and incredible that they won 6 Emmys between them for lead actress and also shocking that they recast Cagney after Season 1 for homophobic reasons (the producer said outright that Meg Foster and Tyne Daly acted like dykes!) and yet the series still went on to be such an inspiring and iconic feminist series.
I actually remembered Cagney and Lacey – loved it 🙂
Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps from Zootopia! I’m a little partial to Disney Animations and Jason Bateman. 🙂
Technically not cops, they do take care of the intergalactic scum of the universe and look good doing it. Lets forget the abysmal “international” version although hello Mr Hemsworth!) nothing brings me more joy from my childhood than seeing Mr Jones and Mr Smith take out the bad guys in Men In Black
Can I say Chloe Decker and Lucifer? Totally obsessed with the Lucifer series right now, nothing to do with his overwhelming good looks and charms I swear! I love their chemistry, the humour, and how Lucifer nearly ruins every potential arrest by making the case about him instead! They are a brilliant crime fighting pair, and his celestial abilities come in handy for kicking people’s asses!
So many options, but I choose Hot Fuzz’s buddy cop duo – is there anything funnier than Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as a duo, they are guaranteed to make me laugh and keep everyone entertained.
Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett they are my Bad Boys that I have grown to love over the years and they are still going strong.
We have our winners – congrats to……
