I could not be more happier – a new format to Skins for the farewell of the show forever – of course this is the original and UK version and not the US rip off 🙂

Skins 7 will see the return of former Skins stars Hannah Murray as Cassie, Jack O’Connell as Cook and Kaya Scodelario as Effy in three individual stories. The three stories will have their very own titles: SKINS PURE (that’s Cassie story), SKINS RISE (Cook’s) and SKINS FIRE (that one is Effy). More news? OK then… Lily Loveless (Naomi) and Kat Prescott (Emily) will also appear in guest roles. Now give me some fucking Tony and bring bloody Frankie back from the dead and I will just DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skins 7 is written by series creators Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain alongside Jess Brittain, and we’re told it will go into new territory; more adult, more uncompromising. YES! Each two part story centres on the characters now in their early twenties, the party’s over and they’re starting out as young adults, struggling to find a direction and a focus in unforgiving times. Bryan Elsley, co-creator said; “I am delighted that three emblematic actors, currently embarking on successful movie careers are returning to E4 and Skins. They will play their iconic characters as they emerge into adulthood, and bring new challenging stories of young adults, grappling with life in Cameron’s Britain, to vivid and entertaining focus.”

The three episodes will show how favourite characters have grown up. They will now be in their early 20s and adjusting to adult life.

The series will be “more adult, more uncompromising,” according to E4.

“The party’s over and they’re starting out as young adults, struggling to find a direction and a focus in unforgiving times,” E4 writes.

“Skins Rise” will show Generation 2 bad boy Cook (Jack O’Connell), who is now working as a drug dealer in Manchester. In his episode, he will be forced to confront his violent past.

“Skins Rise” will show Effy (Kaya Scodelario), who appears in seasons 1 through 4, working in finance and discovering evidence of major fraud. Fan favorite couple Naomi (Lily Loveless) and Emily (Kathryn Prescott) will also appear in this episode.

“Skins Pure” will show Generation 1 favorite Cassie (Hannah Murray), who is “adrift, alone and invisible in London.” She strikes up a “strange and poignant” friendship with a stranger.

No news on release – they just said Spring – but if that is in the UK then that is like 9 months away?? Who knows – but I will be waiting with bated breath!!
