Season Two begins where we left off – the Walrus crew is stranded, with an army of Spanish soldiers standing between them and the precious Urca gold. And with their crimes against their brethren no longer a secret, Flint and Silver must join forces in a desperate bid for survival. Meanwhile, Eleanor Guthrie struggles to maintain her grip on Nassau, as a new breed of pirate arrives in the form of Ned Low, a man for whom violence isn’t just a tool … it’s a pastime. As blood is spilled, and tensions mount, Charles Vane must decide which he values more: Eleanor’s life, or the respect of his men. And unbeknownst to all of them, a prize of immeasurable value has already been smuggled onto the island … one whose discovery will alter the very landscape of their world, and force everyone in Nassau toward the ultimate judgment: are they men, or are they monsters?

Don’t let the fact that Michael Bay executive produces deter you from this one, the good new about this is he has lots and lots of cash so the production values are high, as is the quality of the writing – the story was created by Robert Levine and Jonathan E Steinberg who both were involved in the writing of JERICHO (I loved that show!!), but individual episodes are written by different people and due to the connection with TREASURE ISLAND Robert Louis Stevenson is even credited as a writer. The show is based twenty years prior to the events in TREASURE ISLAND and involves a few of the characters from the literary classic.

The writing is dark and realistic and void of comedy and campy pirates *cough Jack Sparrow. If you like pirates, great CGI and pirate ships and battles, immense profanity and abundant violence and lots of adventure this one will be for you.

Whereas season one was more slow burn it was there to set up the series for its future, a huge risk considering its budget, they were lucky to maintain a decent fanbase and said fans are definitely rewarded, season two is quick out of the gate and maintains a very steady pace that is more brutal swashbuckling filled violent adventure.

Personally I preferred season two to season one and happy days, season three is on the way. It is a show you can definitely binge watch so if you haven’t seen season one then get your hands on it from all reputable home entertainment outlets and then enter away to win season two. You get two more episodes with season two and this one comes in at ten full episodes.

Have you seen it? Do you love it? And is it me or does lead, Captain Flint (Toby Stephens) remind you of Ser Jon Mormant (Iain Glen) from Game of Thrones?? Always spins me out!

Best of luck in winning this one and now, enter away!!
