Trailer of the day: ADORATION

It is poetic, it is beautiful, it is loving, it looks intelligent and just stunning and it has a lot of actors I just love.

MILF Cougars, ROBIN WRIGHT and NAOMI WATTS, are sharing the screen with their onscreen sons, XAVIER SAMUEL and JAMES FRECHEVILLE. If you have followed my reviews over the years you will know that Xavier is my favourite Australian actor, he is my onscreen weakness and everything he is in I think is amazing, I admit, I even bought BAIT 3D to own 🙂

ADORATION is based on the novella by the acclaimed Nobel Prize winning writer Doris Lessing. It is a gripping tale of love, lust and the power of friendship that charts the unconventional and passionate affairs embarked on by two lifelong friends. This beautiful and heart-wrenching story follows Lil (Watts) and Roz (Wright), who fall in love with each other’s teenaged sons. Afraid of facing the ire and judgment of their insular seaside community, the two affairs continue over the years in secret, until their discovery threatens to tear apart the new lives and families of the young men, who must eventually choose between following a well-worn path, or following their true desires.

An Australian co-production, ADORATION was shot on the picturesque north coast of NSW, and features an exquisite visual confidence coupled with a bold approach to storytelling. Adapted by Academy Award-winner Christopher Hampton (Atonement, Dangerous Liaisons) and directed by Anne Fontaine (Coco Before Chanel) this is an erotic tale of misguided love and a celebration of the enduring nature of female friendship.

ADORATION will be in cinemas 22 August 2013.
